Day Two in Hong Kong

Here I am! Hong Kong! This is my first time landing my feet on Hong Kong. It's a vacation trip to Hong Kong and Macau with my mum and my aunt for a week. It started with - we reached Hong Kong on 29 June at late night and the real-fun journey began on the 30th June morning. Just a little info, our hotel was Standford Hillview Hotel located at Knutsford Terrace, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon.

Day Two: Ngong Ping 360 & Night Market @ Jordan

In Day 2, we planned to make use of our 3 days unlimited MTR ride (we bought MTR Tourist Value Pack - worth HK$300 which includes 2 ways of Airport Express and few promotion coupons), thus, we went to places which are far from Tsim Sha Tsui.

1st destination, "Ngong Ping 360" - to visit the Giant Buddha and Wisdom Path.

One of the offers from the MTR Tourist Value Pack.

To get to Giant Buddha in Ngong Ping 360, we are required to take cable car. Ok, we took MTR from Tsim Sha Tsui and interchange at Lai King to Tung Chung station. Then, simply follow the signboards to the ticket counters (more details, find out HERE, they got few packages).

Ngong Ping 360.

Once reached the top, take a short walk and few hundred of steps to get to the Giant Buddha.

Ok, maybe it looks like a Mini Buddha from bottom of the stairs.

Taken from top.

After the Giant Buddha, we went to Wisdom Path. Basically, Wisdom Path is:-
Wisdom Path features an arrangement of 38 giant wood columns measuring 8-10 metres long and 1 metre wide to showcase calligraphy by master of Chinese studies Professor Jao Tsung-i. These wood columns are arranged in a "∞" pattern.

Each of these giant wood columns has its own meaning and I kinda lazy wanna list here out. *teehee* Since the last cable car is 6:30pm on weekends and public holidays (normal days 6pm), hence, we did not spend much time at Wisdom Path. Be there earlier like 5:30pm or you'll face like what we faced...

Crowd!!!

Hmm, maybe because of public holiday in Hong Kong on 1st July 2011... LOL! Anyway, on our way back, we went to Temple Street or well known as Night Market @ Jordan. Do tryout the foods around there, very reasonable prices! In my opinion, Night Market is the best spot among other streets and markets for shopping souvenirs with best bargains!

Night Market.

So that's it, for our Day Two, Ngong Ping 360 and Night Market @ Jordon.

Do catch out my other related blog posts yo!
