Fried Carrot Cake @ Ah Wei, Miri, Sarawak

In Miri, it's not easy to find a good taste of fried carrot cake, commonly known as chai tow kway in Malaysia and Singapore. However, 'Ah Wei Cha Kueh' do offer tasty fried carrot cake.

Basically, Ah Wei's style of frying the carrot cake is completely different from what I've seen in Kuala Lumpur and Malacca. Even the photo above has shown everything, the colour is different. It seems that Ah Wei's frying style is based on Kuching style. You may observe that the egg has covered the top part of carrot cake, special heh?

Regardless it's Kuching style or Miri style, the taste is the main key to success. I personally think it's tasty, perhaps the best in Miri. Till today, they have two branches (if I'm not mistaken), one is located at Piasau while the other one is located at Jalan Boulevard.

Apparently, the Piasau branch is handled by the owner herself, during lunch hour. But frankly speaking, I prefer the one located at Jalan Boulevard, near to Boulevard Shopping Complex. The Boulevard branch is located at Chung Kiew Restaurant.

Where is the exact location? Refer to the simple map below and observe the red star. In other word, it's located behind the row of RHB Bank.
